General:

The OPTI-TRANS 1st Workshop was held on 20th September, 2010 in Madrid (TID Premises, C/Emilio Vargas, 6).

The objective of the Workshop was to present to Location Based Services (LBS) users and to all of the LBS added-value chain the available Mass Market applications stemmig from OPTI-TRANS and other related European R&D projects, such as GINA, SMART-WAY and INTIME , as well other challenging results which are foreseen to become available as solutions in the near future. In addition, the workshop provided a demonstration of the OPTI-TRANS solution live.

Workshop attendees showed how location based services can improve the management and security of mobile forces, and how these services can be deployed in their organisation.

The attendees were:

• Decision makers, project managers, interested in the technical and economical aspects of the deployment of Location Based Services.
• Technical presonnel interested in knowing what are the most up to date Location techniques, and their associated performances.
• Representatives from all aspects of the Location Based Services value chain.
• Urban Transport-related organisations (authorities, operators, etc.)
